ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF TINOSPORA CORDIFOLIA

Abstract

Tinospora cordifolia family Menispermaceae known as Amrita (Guduchi).It is widely used by tribal’s for treatment for many diseases. Compounds extracted by this plant by soxhlet extractor, separated by classical and machine chromatographic techniques using mixed solvent system.This study determines the antibacterial effect of Tinospora cordifolia stem methanol extract on Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus albus bacteria.
