ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY OF CALOTROPIS PROCERA
Abstract
The plant calotropis procera locally name as madar. This family contains biologically active
compounds isolated by soxhlet extractor, separated by classical and machine chromatographic techniques using
mixed solvent system. The root extract of calotropis procera showed strong cytotoxic effect. The root extract
has potential antipyretic activity against both yeast-induced and typhoid vaccine induced fever but these studies
are not enough for identifying and characterizing the bioactive compounds in this plant. The purpose of this
study is to identify and characterize the bioactive principles from the root of calotropis procera.
